Has anyone ever bought a brand new alternator and when you put it on, it just makes this god aweful squeaking noise while the car is running?

take it back and use the money for a powermaster 140 amp.....i paid $156.00 through summit
the dyno sheet i got read 102 amps at 2250rpm,and 163 amps at 6500.
so i think your better off with something thats going last and put up with anything you throw at it.

yeah i have an 85 and i think the alternator i had on it before was a 60amp or something. My car wasn't charging for **** so we had to modify the bracket and wires so i could get a 130 amp. my car charges great - 14v on idle. but the noise is just annoying.

anyways thanks guy i guess i'll pull it off and take it back and get a new 1.
