depends if the knock is originating from the water pump. start the car, pop the hood, and use a long screwdriver or a SOLID bar, not hollow, and place one end of it on the water pump. have someone mess with the throttle trying to get the loudest sound, and put your ear to the screwdriver or bar. when you have found the knock, it will resonate right through the screwdriver or bar and you'll hear it plain as day.

well found out it overheated b/c of the water pump so dont mind my yapping at the beginning lol but at about 15seconds u can hear the knock so ne help with that?

Sounds like a lifteror lifter's are bleeding down thats how my 84 sounded so I put a little bottle of lucas additive and it stopped all most instantly it would only come back when i would abuse her I would let her idle for a minute or two and it would go away again
