Default whats bad about open headers on a stang?

i think i missed something here, alright i have a very slightly modded 351 windsor with longtube hooker headers. Just so i won't have to buy exhaust i was going to run it with them open mostly on the strip but some street driving. like all my dads big block cars run open headers even if its a stock 440 dodge. Is it different for small blocks or what b/c i really do not understand.

I think you need backpressure to run right

You really need backpressure in order to make the power you should be making. From what i've read I wouldn't go anything less than a midpipe and mufflers dumped. You can also burn up your valves if you run open headers on shorties, not sure on the long tubes.

Yes you will lose horsepower by a alot and it's not even worth doing it just spend the money for exhaust it will sound alot better and you won't die from breathing the exhaust in!!!!!!!

I am not sure about the exhaust thread but I would go with some go with bassani if you wanna spend the money in my opionion it's the best sounding exhaust for a mustang but you gotta have some deep pockets for it!!!!

What about the fact that it will just be f-ing loud. You would probably be the best off just running a normal exhaust system.
