seriously, im worried now. it runs good, no funny noises and the idle is pretty even , a lil high at first but it purs after a few. it may have been rebuilt, what signs might give away that its been rebuilt???
how much longer do u guys think i can get out of it??

Typically, youll get up to 280,000 miles on a properly maintaned 302 engine using stock bearings and rings
It will use oil and the performance will go down.
When they knock, usually its spun a main, or rod bearing. When they consume oil, new rings.Torn alot em down[&o], and youll find out rings for the 302 hydraulic motor are not cheap anymore[&:].
Our 1993 cobra has a 306 and has not been rebuilt since 1997, we used HD racing bearings and rings, on it. Kept up all oil changes
Still in the shop for frame work

its not the engine, its the bearings and rings that wear.

Not sure on the miles of my 89' the guage cluster has been replaced twice since my mom bought the car in '96 and I don't recall if it was supposedly the original when we bought it. Our estimates are around 200k miles on it.... and it runs great. Wouldn't doing a 331 stroker kit or 347 stroker kit basically be rebuilding the engine? (sorry i'm still learning stuff)
