85 Stang

I own a 85 and Im missing on the passenger side door the harness? or the white thing where you plug the window switches into. Im not sure what it is called but I was wondering if these things are interchangeable with any other car. Also with the wiring im not to sure on how it goes. It gettin kinda warm in Chicago and not having that other window really does suck. If you could help me it be apreciated thanks.
Another Question....Ive was lookin through some tech articles and was wondering if I could do that 3g alt. swap for my car. The only thing that really confuses me is the wiring. has anyone ever done this with their 85? I also have pullies and will it make that much of a dif with the new alt?

Just a guess but I think the window problem could be fixed by using parts from an '83--'86 or so.
Look in the Chiltons repair book and they show the wiring diagrams......
