Strugglin with Tie Rod Replacement. need advice
I have a bad tie rod on the right side of my car. I went out in the garage today and noticed a large puddle of power steering fluid under it. I went to pull the boot off to replace the tie rod but have had no success. The clamp on the boot has the flathead side of it pointing up and is very difficult to get a bite on it. I can barley get a screwdriver on it let alone het enough torque to unscrew it. I'm not sure what to do to get it off. I have thought about just using a dremel and cutting the clamp off but I was unsure if power steering fluid is flammable. Any suggestions???
Here is a crappy picture of what I am looking at from under the car.

the head of that screw should be a hex head, 8mm.
i dunno why someone used that style clamp for this... aparently its been done before.
also, if power steering fluid is leaking from the rack, you need a new rack. your wasting your time trying to get that off if you need a new rack.

fluid leaking from the lines is almost half normal for fox mustangs, but if its coming out of the rack, the rack is bad. use a needle or razor or something and jab a tiny hole in the boot there.
if fluid comes out of the hole you create, the rack is bad.

manual racks are a good way to reduce weight in the front end, and it gets rid of that annoying p/s whine that we all deal with.
if you need to make alot of sharp turns at low speeds, i suggest you start lifting weights.
