hey guys i have an 89 with an AOD in it. I just ordered a set of Motive 4:10's for it and was wodnering what I need to correct the speedometer?

According to Steeda, I know I need the 7 Tooth drive gear with the 23 tooth speedomter gear since my car is an 89. Do I also need the gear on the mainshaft also? Or do I just need the gear on the speedometer itself?

that link does not help out any. they do not offer any gears for 4:10's and automatic...anyone else? Adder?

you just need one gear for the speedo cable. i just put in a new speedo gear last week. my buddy who helped pull the tranny when we had it rebuilt was in a rush and stripped my old one. i just got around to putting the new one in.[&:] very easy install. took about 5 minutes

what main gear are you talking about?

the gear on the main shaft. thats inside hte tailhousing. the one that the speedometer cable runs off of. But if i do just need to change the speedo gear on teh cable only, then ill go ahead. Thanks for the help. ill order it later this week after finals!
