hey, is it a good idea to buy used rearend gears off of ebay or should i spend the extra 60 to 90 bux on brand new ones?

i'm trying to get 4.10s on my 95gt AOD and i was just wondering

I bought used gears from a guy at work...so I got to look at them real close like. Different from eBay where you can't really see the wear pattern that gears put on themselves. If someone locally has gears for sale that you can visually inspect, then go for it...buying used gears on eBay is iffy.

hell the gears i took out of my rear with 130k miles on them have no wear on them at all. so buying used gears isnt a problem unless they are trashed

on ebay just try to zoom in on the pic and see the wear pattern, i bought mine new... for like 125 off ebay and they were FMS

buy used only if you can inspect them closely in person with them in your hands. other than that, buy new ones.
