Okay, it's making a little more sense now. Make sure you used the proper product to clean the MAF. Swapping out the O2 sensors is also a good idea. If you're ahving idle problems, it wouldn't hurt to remove the IAC and clean it with somne carb cleaner. That should be easy to remove and replace. You could always check your TPS voltage, but that may not be necessary right away.

Usually if you have bad O2 sensors, you will get a CEL that goes off and on at seemingly random times.
bingo... my CEL light does come off and on randomly. the guy said it could be the voltage. i haven't checked it yet cause i just bought a new volt meter and it didn't come with batt [:@]

i've never seen a CEL flash on and off from o2's. EVP, yes, o2, no.

and we only have 2 o2s, 96+ have 4, the two after the cats are for monitoring catalyst efficiency. we dont have that.

Well why didn't you say that to begin with, LoL. Yeah, replace them. And yes you can use ones from advance. When I swapped mine out I got a set of Bosch from Auto Zone.

As stated above, you only have two. Both are precat. The OBDII cars have 4 sensors.

It doesn't "flash" per-se. it will turn on for a random period of time and then may or may not go out after awhile. If it is on and you turn the car off and then right back on again, teh light will be out for what seems like a random period of time and then comes on again. Very common.

LoL, someone probably disabled it. I've done that in cars before. Got sick of looking at it so I just pulled it.

EVP?
EGR valve position sensor

also, the o2 socket isn't necessary, but it helps with other cars. a 22mm wrench is all you need. unplug the sensor before you start taking it out, so you don't twist the wiring.
also, during the re-install, dont plug them in until they're tight, for the same reason.
