Default what EXACTLY causes these trannys to grenade?

what is it that causes them to break?
the clutch being pushed in, revving to high rpms.. and the tranny trying to catch up to the motor when you fire the clutch?
what is it exactly?

Stock t5's are WEAK. Even a stock motor can break one if you beat on it a lot. A modded motor, forget it!

A lot of it is how you drive too. Powershifting will beat the crap outta a tranny. Increased power and/or increased abuse = decreased life.

I've seen quite a few people road race 400hp engines on stock t-5's and they hold up. But that's some way different shifting than yanking so hard on the stick you'd think you were trying to bend shift forks

STOCK T-5's will hold a 10 sec. maveric my teacher has one running 10's (turbo car) one in the 11's (blower car)and a nother that hasn't been to the track yet (nitrous car 500 shot) ALL of them are STOCK t-5's the 11 sec. car has been going for 2-3 years the turbo car about 1.5 seasons and the nitrous car was built over the winter...

it's all in how u drive the car, i no lift shift my car all the time and with 134,XXX it's still holding up just fine... for the guy in the video his problem was the was only half way in 3rd when he let the clutch out there for the tranny breaking was driver error not a weak tranny...

yes a tko is alittle stronger and alot more idiot proof thats y they tend not to break as often... once i get things going good financialy i plan on showing everyone that a t-5 will hold alot more than everyone things
