5.0L (1979-1995) Mustang Technical discussions on 5.0 Liter Mustangs within. This does not include the 5.0 from the 2011 Mustang GT. That information is in the 2005-1011 section.

Is $250 worth if for a later roller 5.0L Exploder? What do the casting lines mean???

It started life as a V6, 3 transmissions and 1 destroyed engine later she got a 5.3L SHM shortblock. Im still not really done with the project but ya. Thats about it.
Suspension is MM

I get asked that question a lot, I would figure people would know that it was a swap [8D]

We have a 71' Mach1 that we would like to put one of those exploder 302's into untill the Cleveland is done.

especially since I have Mach 1 in there

I call her a 95' Mach 1 because she got almost all of her go fast goodies from a Mach1 front clip. I am selling the 0 mile shortblock right now, I went with a 96-98 cobra block instead. The interior is slowly being converted over to a complete Mach 1 charcoal theme.

Basicly Im going to try to make it look like a Mach 1 had one been made in 1995 w/o the rocker stripes though.

Yeah, but this way you can tell without taking the valve covers off... it's a little easier at least (unless the valve covers are already off it anyway) [&:]
negative... they say gt or gtp near the BOTTOM head bolts... which are not under the valve cover
Hm, coulda sworn i saw GT on a gt-40 head under the valve cover. Thanks for clearing that up.

Very helpful info guys, thanks again.

Is there anything different between these blocks and the 94/95 Roller block in the GT's and Cobra's?
How much horsepower can the block itself handle?

Any other tips or advice you guys can give me on these engines?

Thanks
