well its probably a gt...i mean really the only main difference is the body kit

only difference between 86 LX and GTs are front bumber has foglight cutouts, GT behind door, GT on Hood, GT on hatch/trunk, Seats are made for GT and the dash bezel cover is NOT checkered.

differnece between 85 and 86 are 85 didnt have third brake light, windshield washer tank is mounted on the fender, and of course 85 = 5spd/carb auto/CFI but that doesnt apply

only way to tell 100% if its a GT is by locating the buck tag on the radiator support and it SHOULD say GT somewhere on it

man all kinds of misinformation. theres no body kit, the only diff i know even from a 4 banger lx hatch and a 5.0 gt is the damn fog lights and gt hood decal and gt on the molding. and really who cares if it wasnt a gt it means its been swapped and might have a better than original gt motor anyways. if it hauls azz who cares if it was a 4 to start with. this aint barret jackson is it??? and incase u were wondering both the gt and 4cyl lx have 85mph speedos unless it was a cop car and those are almost always notchbacks as far as i know.
whats the asking price? do a carfax to get an idea of the miles on it if ur concerned about history and stuff, likec 20 bucks and it will tell everything that been documented on the car.

do u have a 85 too?? that pic looks nice of the 85. i wish mine was as clean as ur 86! im working on it though. spent alot of time messing with putting the 87gt wing on it , mainly i did it cus i wanted to look diff so people cant tell the year or make em wonder plus the stock one had a crack in it near the trunk lock. i really like the 86 gts though, might try to get another one eventually. still want a cheese gratter tail light gt too, perferably a 93

the car is 1200 bucks.it does have fog light cutouts like gt.

okay mr smarty...by body kit i didnt mean ground effects...the gt's came, with different things done to the body...most direct things to look at are the letters gt right behind the drivers door in the molding, the fog light cutouts in the front bumper....and if the car is still original the biggest and hardest to miss would be the hood...which has the full blackout detail with the letters gt on the drivers side front
