Yeah but if you go with the 185's you may have a problem with piston to valve clearance seeing how they are 2.02/1.60 ... The 165's you can bolt right on to your stock engine.

might as well get 185's if no smog

only have to worry about clearence if you go with to big of a cam... the valve size has nothin to do with clearance... only life on cam[sm=icon_stickpoke.gif]

Not true, if you read up on any site, or a summit mag if you have one lieing around that heads with 2.02/1.60 valves, you will notice in the fine print at the bottom that it says, these heads cannot be used on a stock 5.0 as the valves will hit the pistons. That is with the stock cam and stock rollers. You can try it, but I'm sure you would have rather listened to the ink. The only set of heads that I know of that you can use on a stock engine with 2.02/1.60's are the Trick Flow Twisted Wedge heads and that is because they were specially designed for the stock 302 block. Read up on it im sure you'll find what Im talking about.

see my mods below. My best time in the 1/8 is 8.8 @ almost 79mph with a 2.1 60ft. I was on bald street tires spinning pretty bad. I dont have access to a 1/4 mile track but hope to travel to one this spring or summer. How much diffrence do u guys think drag radials would make? what about et streets? Also, how hard should I launch without being too hard on my drivetrain? Will my stock axles and stuff hold up? Thanks in advance guys. I appretiate all of the help and advice I've got from these forums.
I have a time slip here but my set up is a little different but here ya go
60ft....... 2.13
1/8 mile..8.91 @80.75
1/4 mile.. 13.79 @ 101.10

I had wheel spin pretty bed too.

I dont know if it really makes a difference ,but i have the trickflow track heat heads with 2.02/1.60 valves ,an "e" cam and stock pistons and still have piston to valve clearance.I know that the valves are swapped though.
