oil pump shaft...???
i just pulled out my distributor and the oil pump shaft came out partially with it.... i pulled it out of the distributor and it slid back down into place but i think it isnt all the way in, can i get some long needle nosed pliers and pull it back out and re-install it or do i have to pull the oil pan and put a new one in????

RE: oil pump shaft...???
Well if you think you can get it with needle nose pliers, I'd say try it, but if not then you will have to drop the pan which requires that you pull the engine. Good luck :)

you can do what ever to get it seated correctly in the oil pump. this is what i did used a magnet to seat it in the oil pump then reinstalled the dis. when i was ready, i then turned the motor by hand(.5 inch drive and socket) while holding the dis. to make sure it was seated properly. GOOD LUCK!
