ok, then what the hell is a Ford 390?

I've heard of 393W windsors, or 408W or 427W's
but you lost me on 390 and 429

What are you guys talking about??????????/
I have a 351W ( the base for the 393,408,427 ) and the swap was a breeze

Big blocks. The 390 was in some 67-up Mustangs. 390's are decent, but yes, heavy. If you go for a big block you might as well do a 427 since it can wind high and make wicked power, ot just go all the way and plop in a 460. 429 would be pretty cool though. As far as modded out? Big lbocks are EXPENSIVE to build for high performance depending on what you do, and there's also a weight factor as well. You can make a 302 FAST, you can also make a 429 FAST. Which will cost more? Depends on what you need/want.
