Default Low engine coolant light?

Almost every time I take the car out when I first start it up in the morning the Low Engine coolant light stays on,but once I turn it off and restart it the light dosen't come back on .So I check the coolant in the radiator and it appears to be full I can see the fluid in it and the car never over heats...What do you guys think the problem is? This just started a week ago..........

bad coolant level switch, or the overflow tank is low... which I would try first, make sure it is full.

Your low coolant level sensor is located in the overflow tank and like tmajikman said you're probably running low on coolant in the overflow tank. I would go ahead and remove the overflow tank (two bolts, one in the middle and one in the top and disconnect the line running from the top of the radiator to the bottom of the tank), empty it, and get all of the **** out of the bottom of it by running it in your sink or using your garden hose and clean the tips of that sensor off. Fill it to the proper level and it should work. If that doesn't cure it you need a new sensor.

I have been a ford tech for some time now, I have seen so many sensors go bad in these things. Not that I like playing darts to fix cars but replacing it will probably fix your problem

low coolant sensor most likely or low coolant in the overflow tank

Is it just me, or is it like 90% of problems with computer controlled vehicles are sensor related?

Mine does the same thing........I know it is full..........it is a bad sensor. If you know your coolant is where it is supposed to be, then do not worry about it

You're low on coolant... just add a little more.
Mine will do the same thing, usually after it sits all winter and I get it out for the first time.
The light comes on, then goes off if you restart because the level jumps up from the heat.
