Default Engine Build Plans

Okay guys so heres the deal...i want to build my self up a nice car..so far my thoughts are a set of afr heads, a cam, and a kenne bell 2.2 flowzilla...now i have no clue what size heads to get, or anything about cams, but i do know that if i just put the kenne bell on, that i wouldnt be getting its full potential because of the lack of flow..so if i could get some input that would be great..thanks

For a daily driver street car, smaller tends to be a bit better(to an extent)in the performance parts category. AFR 165's would work well, and anice cam, if you plan on running more than out of the box boost on that blower, since it's positive discplacement you could run AFR 185's with a bigger cam and the blower will make up down low some or most of what you lose from a bigger cam/heads. Depends on what you wanna do with it

Here's my build suggestion

306ci rebuild, with Forged internals all around.
AFR 185 or Canfield 190 heads
custom cam.
Holley intake
66mm single turbo runnig about 12psi

nice and streetable, make a ton more power than a KB
for same boost and same cost.

A 306 with turbo and AFR 185's would be an absolute beast, but still drive really nice Of course, there's always [sm=nxsmile.gif]

Smog laws will play a part if you want to keep it street-legal....are you in a state that requires emission tests??

When you rebuild a 302 you genreally bore it over a bit in order to straighten the cylinder out to where it's supposed to be(if it needs it). You end up with 306cid instead of 302cid. Not that it makes that much difference. 350/355 351/357 etc. Basically the same thing

get a custom cam from www.camshaftinnovations.com
best to get a head/cam combo ..... cost about $2,000
he can get you AFR's if thats what you want but says Canfields are mo-better

www.pareraceengines.com for short block

www.hellionpowersystems.com for turbo kit running about 12psi
( comes with injectors, fuel pump and everything so keep that in mind when looking at price )

Total cost about $10k and making 450+ at the wheels.
