I looked up the stats for the 85 5.0 today and they say that the 85 came with a 600 cfm carb. Does this mean that it would be a waste of money to go out and buy the holley 600cfm or is there a difference?

should have a holley from the factory anyways. spend your money on a better intake, the stock early/mid 80's aluminum 4bbl intake has VERY small ports on it, much smaller than the stock heads have. basically its a restriction, and a stock replacement style intake with normal sized ports will serve you great. edelbrock performers are worthless, but the weiand stealth or action plus, or the edelbrock performer rpm or rpm airgap will work great on there - even with everything else stock.

i gotta performer RPM intake brand new in the box for sale if it helps ya! i'll even throw in the carb studs and Edelbrock chrome air filter housing new too

actually, while the rpm airgap is better for the higher rpm range and it keeps things a little cooler - the regular rpm doesnt have the center divider cut down and will do better at lower RPMs

i'd strike a deal with 87 if you can
