Default switching a mass to a speed density

ok, i finally got a motor and i bought an 89 ho. i have an 88 and i need to switch it all to speed denisty. if i switch the intake am i good or do i need to do anything else. thanks

shouldnt be nothing really to swap over. just make sure to install all the correct sensors

you'd prob be better off to switch to mass air, it the 89 engine is already set up for it and it has it's advantages, like its adaptabilty to modifacations and more of a free airflow.

here is asight that will outline the proccess, it has become a common practice for converting 88's to mass air. which is what i did to mine

stock vs stock SD runs better then MAF. motor doesnt know any difference

read again. the motor he is getting is a 89 and thinks there is a difference in the motors between 88 and 89 and there isnt.

and ill sell you a stock MAF air tube, meter and upper tube along with the 4 wires from the meter. im keeping the ecu

Yeah in stock form I have heard the SD is a little better, but if you plan to do any mods at all, MAF is the way to go! Hope this helps.

just picked motor up from junk yard. all i want to do is use the long block from the 89 and slap my 88 stuff on there. i wish i had the money and the time to switch over to mas but i don't. i know all i need is the computer and a wire hook up from an 89 but i just don't have the extra money. do you think this is possible. i'm pretty sure it is i just wanted to make sure. thanks
