what heads are they? you will gain more usable rpm with a different cam, it will also give you the opertunity to have a racier idle.
is the car an auto or manual? if its an auto you will want a looser converter, and you should get 3.55's or 3.73's in the back as well.
if you dont have gears buy them first, they make the biggest change in the way your stang runs.

Not worth the time and money. You don't have a set up that justifies any larger of a cam. The stage 1 is a good cam. What you need now is a supercharger to really wake that motor up. I have a stage 2 in a motor twice as built as yours and it's more than enough. Plus do you really feel like loosing power brakes and having idle troubles.Keep in mind .540 is the max lift on that head. Just my 2 cents.

No my car has manual disc brakes. Vaccum loss is just a fact of life with a cam that has a lot of overlap. Remember a cam is supposed to match your setup it's not about the biggest lift or duration. It has to match everything from your heads to your tires and where you are going to drive it. Email a cam company. Most will give you free advice on the right cam for your combo. Or you could go custom. Which is worth the money spent.
