Supercharged w/o an FMU
I have a 8psi I blower on my 91 GT. I have had a rich problem from day one. I have done everything I can think of to fix the problem. The only thing else to do is install a FMU and maybe can a small pulley on my blower. Does anyone have any other ideas? I about forgot something else I cant understand is that my plugs are not burnt up? Why I dont know because I can smell fuel and she will backfire at times and my gas mileage is 10 per gallon. So I know I am rich.

Take it to a dyno tuner and have it tuned thenyou won't need to have an FMU. Probably not wise to go out and trompin' on it while its untuned like that, you could really screw some things up.

I was going to take it and get a chip but they what $700 to dyno it and burn a chip. I think thats a little much. Then it I change heads or intakes I would have get another chip right?

If you are running rich right now without an FMU, than an FMU is only going to make it worse. The FMU essentially blocks (or partially blocks) the fuel return line, which causes a spike in fuel pressure. It is adjustable so that you can add as much fuel pressure as needed to force more fuel through smaller injectors. It will not, however, allow you to reduce fuel flow. I think you may be confusing an FMU with an AFPR.
If you don't want to pay the extra money and go to a tuner, then you can do the simple poor-mans tune. Increase the timing a little, drop the fuel pressure a little, or both.

As a side note... If you don't want to keep having chips reburned, then go out and buy a Tweecer. It's a handheld tuner that will allow you to tune the car yourself as many times as you want. You can even have 4 tunes programmed at the same time and you can switch between them on the fly. The base model is about $380 and the better RT model is about $530 or so.
If you think you're running rich, then you can lean it out yourself or make whatever changes you think are necessary. Or if you don't want to do any of it yourself, then you can but the base model for $380 and then pay $100 or so to have a custom tune made for you.
