331 stroker
Hey im looking for a replacment motor for my 95 gts. I have found a guy willing to sell a 331 stroker with billet internals for around $5300, he said it cost him 11k+. Here are the specs
Ford Racing Performance Parts R-302 Block (.030") (block is siamesed bore and can produce 360 C.I.)
Scat Billet 3.25" Stroker Crank
Oliver Billet 5.315" Rods
JE 8.0:1 Dshed Pistons
Comp Cams Hydraulic Roller #35-000-8 Dur. @ .050" is 232 Int & Exh. Lift is .564 Int. & Exh. LC is 114
Canton 9" Duble Hump Fox Pan w/ access plugs for drainback for Turbochargers or Superchargers.
Canfield Stage II Aluminum Heads w/ CNC Chambers.
Pro Magnum Roller Rockers 7/16" stud and 1.6 ratio.
The Rotating assembly was also Zero Balanced!!
Everything is high quality and has all ARP hardware.
Now heres my question: If I were to buy this what else would I have to buy to handle a motor like this? By the way, he said the motor would make 460-485 hp naturally aspiated at an 8:1 compression ratio LOTS more hp with boost. I want to use this for a street during the week and local events in my free time. What do you guys think? Is this overkill? I have the money to buy it but Im afraid of all spending alot more than I wanted to with extras I might need to upgrade. Any input would be appreciated!

RE: 331 stroker
buy it. dont ask questions, just buy it. BUT, make sure it starts up and runs fine first. if hes offended, hell get over it if he wants to sell it. if youre running stock clutch/flywheel, youll need beef those up. umm.....if you have a t5, youll probably have to upgrade that sooner or later....and id rather do it sooner so youll still have a car to drive. lol but, sounds like a helluva good deal. hes got the right stuff to make power. if you wanna stay n/a, you should bump the compression up a lil bit. but, if you do want to go fi later, leave it the way it sits and youll make CRAZY hp once you get something bolted up to it. but, thatd be a kicka$$ ride though. and ONE HELLUVA fun ride

RE: 331 stroker
youl will need
1.75 inch headers long tubes 300
tremec 500 or 600 around 2000 complete kit
10 spline kevlar clutch 350
intake to suport 500hp 500
30# injectors 200
80 or 90mm maf 200
190 lph or bigger fuel pump 150
computer upgrade 500 and up
Zero balace balancer and flex plate / flywheel
you should have the heads prepped for stud mount rockers and guild plates. this is a really good deal but for the money you could get a 331 long block rated for 800hp(perducing around 400), with forged internals from almost any popular 302 engine builder, and have them to fall back on.

485HP N/A w/ an 8:1 Compression?
Sure
I'm getting basically the SAME engine made, for 6800
Plus I get a Warranty and it's brand new.
I say look around a bit more.

RE: 331 stroker
you will need to spend about the cost of the engine on the necessary intake, fuel system, etc. and upgrades to the tranny and rear end and suspension in your car in order to be able to hook up that engine HP to the ground, so unless you're willing to spend plenty more, I'd pass on it for now.
