mass air conversion
1987 5.0 took 1993 wireharness & computer have to use 93wireharness is it posible. canot use 87 wireharness .everything working even feul pump car starts but shuts down right away computer not coming on i have a feeling it is the 93 wireharness is there anyone that has done a mass air conversion with newer wireharness

Sorry. I've never done the conversion myself. What do you mean when you say it starts but shuts down right away? How long is "right away?"
Check the basics... are all of the injectors firing and are they firing in the right order? Is the pump staying on? Check the codes on the computer to see if it's working properly. You can do that with a paperclip for free.

make sure you capped off the line coming from the underside of the intake to the map sensor. MAF cars use a baro sensor (on the firewall), which is the same as a MAP sensor, but measures outside pressure, not manifold pressure. other than that, did you replace the entire wiring harness?

Why couldn't you have used your exisitng wiring harness. It's just a matter of adding the MAF, changing your computer, and swapping a few wires at the computer plug, and wiring up the four conductors to the MAF. There an install quide in the tech articles of this forum. It sure helped me when I did the conversion on my 88.
