most people try to slip kevlar clutches, like you would with a carbon/organic clutch. this however shortens the lifespan of the clutch.
you literally do have to drive it like it has a racing clutch... that doesnt mean drop the clutch every time you leave a red light, but it also means dont burn the thing up.
My clutch has lasted through 7k miles of abuse and misuse from me and its still in great shape..
you must just not know how to drive

like he was saying, you cant really slip it much. well you can but you're not really supposed to. just the type of material used for the friction disc. in some applications it chatters when you try to slip it. if you've ever been in a car that does this then you'll kno what i mean. it can make the whole car shake. but like adder also said, you just have to kno how to drive it. and once you do, you wont have a problem with it.

so all this talk about slipping and not slipping. when I change to an aftermarket clutch am I gonna have to change my driving style? Right now If I'm at a light and it goes green, I let the clutch out till it starts to grab and just give it enough gas to kinda keep it like 1500 or lower till I get goin, although now that it's slipping it doesn't like that and sometimes I have to give it more gas. Am I doin somethin wrong? How do you have to drive with an aftermarket clutch?

like i said, it depends on the material. have you ever noticed that race cars, such as NASCAR (just used that as a referance), burnout every time they leave the pits? its not cuz they wanna look cool for the camera or thats the most efficient way to lauch to get out quicker. it cuz they have to. in that application the clutch is basically engaged or not. nothin really anything between the two there. as far as a clutch thats used on a street car but haslarger than normal needs and uses a material like kevlar....simply letting the clutch out a little quicker which in turn enables less slip will do just fine as a "driving habit." just this last weekend i drove a '69 Boss that has a 427 side-oiler literally transplanted from a GT-40 in it and it has a pretty mighty clutch. it only took like 2 mins to be able to adapt to the clutch and how to drive it. and god damn is that b!tch fast
