RE: HeLp 5.0 gods starter/flywheel problems
I dunno man. I say you can try if it you want, but if it doesn't work, you'll just be swapping everything back out to what belongs on there. Me personally, I would have bought the correct bellhousing that I already knew would work, and got the correct flywheel. Because this seems like a lot of work and money (I assume since you are over budget) just to get to keep that bellhousing.
I dunno what to tell you man. Good luck with it. I think in the end you would be better off using the right bellhousing though. Because you already know you will NOT be able to run a 0 oz. flywheel from a 4.6, even if everything else (bellhousing, starter, etc) is set up to accomodate it. You also need to consider clutch options as well. Not to mention, if something breaks, you will have to fab up new pieces versus being able to grab a new part off the shelf.
Sometimes even "off the shelf" parts give trouble. My billet steel flywheel install has had my car down for 2 weeks now waiting on the right bolts to come in for the pressure plate, so just imagine if something goes wrong on one you can't just buy the part for.
I *think* 4.6's ran an 11" clutch instead of a 10.5" like the 5.0/5.8 motors did. Doubt seriously it will matter, but wanted to throw that out there anyway.

94-94 bell housings are bigger/longer as is the input shaft on the 94-95 transmission. so if your trans is out of a fox you need the fox bellhousing as well

RE: HeLp 5.0 gods starter/flywheel problems
Alright that was some information that I did need and I would NEVER ever want to run a 0oz. 4.6 flywheel just because I don't wanna loose my legs if things get unstable at 6 thousand rotations per minute. I was just seing if it would crank. So I modified the bellhousing by cutting the shim between it and the block a little larger, then I drilled and tapped 2 holes exctaly 0.5 inches away from their original position and everything works great......for now. there is no grinding noise or aything abnormalthat I can see for right now.
thanks for everything everyone, it definatly gave me a much better insight about what I will need to do later on in the build.
