Default question about conve

im gonna be gettin a 5.0 in a 2 or 3 months and would really like to get a convertable. i was jus wonderin if it has the same hp as the hatchback. thanx

yeah it is the same horsepower it just weighs a little more.

it doesn't handle as well and it about .3 slower but the good side you can put the top down

well from what i hear people say that 89 and up are the best but im not sure why. i was lookin at 88 and up. maybe someone could helpme out and tell me the differences.

I don't care what anybody says, the convertible is worth it just for the wind-in-the-hair aspect. Plus chicks dig it (except the gf, who doesn't like not having the top up)

Anyway, 88 will have the speed-density based computer, and the 89+ will have the mass air stuff. Mass air responds better to modifications. So if you're going to leave it mostly stock, it doesn't matter much.

The convertibles, with the roll bar....... yum.

IMO, they look 29849829823x's better than a hatch.

thanx a lot for the info guys. i wanna get a convertable for sure now that i know that is has the same horsepower and isnt very much slower then the hatch. i really like the look of the rollbar too, plus it will be a lil safer with one.
