Default tranny fluid replacement

i just drained my tranny fluid and put some new fluid in...my question is how much do i need roughly...i know you fill it up to the bottom of the hole but the guy at jegs only gave me 2 quarts i think its close but have no idea...anybody have any clue how roughly how much fluid it takes to fill it up to the hole?

2.8 qts. Just put in 3qts and call it good.

I just had mine done in my 89. I watched the guy doit and he was having a tough time with it. He used just about the two bottles, eventually it started pouring out, he gave it a second then put the plug in when it was almost done draining.

well i filled the rearend with 2 quarts of fluid and its still not full...wtf...im never listening to the idiots a jegs again...is this right...should it take over 2 quarts to fill the rearend up to the fill plug?

yah... it should be close to 3qts just like the tranny... dont forget the bottle of friction modifier

good lord...i hope walmart has it cause im not drivin all the way back to jegs for the third time...i asked the guy like 3 time if this was enought and he was like yup

Friction modifier is only available at a Ford dealer. If your using Royal Purple synthetics then you don't need it.
