Building a non-Mustang 5.0

Building a non-Mustang 5.0
Can you build a non H.O. 5.0 to have just as much power as the H.O.?
I like the Lincoln Mark VIIs, It'd be nice to have some power and have a nice luxurious ride too. Of course there's not that good a chance of finding one of these in mint condition, so it would be a restoration project, so I'd probably be replacing a lot of the engine with performance parts anyway

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure all you need to convert is a camshaft, computer, and harness. Lot more options for the HO, I haven't looked much but you can't really find cams for the non-HO motors.

I am pretty sure they are the same block, just different cam. Maybe they have different pistons to lower compression and the heads might be different also, but you can build them. Sounds like you have some research to do.

RE: Building a non-Mustang 5.0
I just did a quick look on ebay and it seems that all the Mark 7's had the HO 5.0, even the non LSC models.
I think the LSC models had an upgraded suspension but I might be wrong.
