Default RE: bad idle-need help

so i just replaced the TPS and still no change. it seems to happen more when im comming to a stop and then when im waiting at a red light. there is a little grey hose that looks kind of like a wire that is made out of hard plastic on the passenger side and i geuss it had broke because i noticed black tape around it... perhaps that is part of the vacumm leak.

im going to clean the IAC and throttle plate and see how that goes. i have to replace the water pump tomorrow so i will get my old man to do that while i do all this idle stuff.

thanks

like i said check out the web sight link it should sum everything up for you, spray carb cleaner around all the vaccum hose ends and the tape to see if the engine revs higher then you will know for sure it's a vacuum leak,
"Idle speed set on the throttle plate is too high; usually this error is characterized by a very erratic idle and stalling when coming to a stop.
Set the throttle by removing the connector from the idle speed control motor.
With engine warm and air conditioner turned off, set idle speed at 700 RPM using the throttle screw.
Reconnect idle speed motor and check for engine stability.
Check system for vacuum leaks and fix them."
that trouble shoot comes from pro-flow.com

so i tok apart the IAC an cleaned it, i noticed the rubber o ring was flat and needed replacing so i had another one that fit perfect. i took the whole IAC off the intake and i was blowing into it while it was in the closed position and it seems there is still a tiny leak becaue you could hear a little bit of air getting out still. so maybe its time to replace the piece all together. anyways i got the car running and it seems to idle a lot better but it did start to loops onceor twice again and just when its about to shut the car off it corrects itself.

certainly a worth while improvment from cleaning it though.
