Default 347 build up

i think im going to build a 347...i just bought another block for $50 from a buddy so i can build it on the side.

i was thinking about having higher compression (11:1 or 12:1) while running nitrous. is this ok? im currently running a 100 shot (dry) and was hoping i can keep the nitrous the same on the new motor.

im buying some tfs heads, and i already have the tf intake and all the bolt on crap.

also, i have a 75mm tb that is new.....would this be ok for a 347 or should i go with a 70mm?

thanks for the help

If you've got the 75 mm TB use it. In my opinion when it comes to compression, if you are going to run race gas anyway, which 12:1 will dictate, go to the max that is resonable like 13 or 14:1. Anything above 14:1 and things get critical. If you are staying pump gas you should drop back to somewhere in the 10:1 range.Nitrous and compression are fine. All that compressionand a big cam will give it some thump!

Another thing get the Trick Flownitrous kit that is a plate that goes between the upper and lower portion of theintake. A friend has that and it works great, really hits hard and goes to 300. I know that's a bit much for a stock block but you may upgrade later.

i am going to run 10.5:1 with my next set up thats what i would shoot for anymore than that if you expect to run pump gas you have to pull timing which cost power.

ya, it sucks cause i live in california and the highest we have is 91. i know a place close by that sells 100 octane at the pump.....would that be enough for 12:1?
