Default R these the right mods?

Hey everyone, im new to mustangforums...I just bought a 1990 25th Aniversery GT for $1500 and i had some mods in mind...i've read the many pgs of different ways to mod the 5.0's on here, but my plans were to install the following: underdrive pulleys,65mm or + TB, largermass air, b series ford racing cam, 1.6 roller rockers, gt-40 heads and intake manifoldoff an older explorer, and some full length headers ( i heard tht u couldn't run shorties with gt-40's b.c of plug wire problems). I guess what im gettin at is do u all think tht these are the right mods to be doing to the car, and if not which ones do i not need? Will a 65mm TB be large enough for this application?

EVERYONE'S opinion will be greatly appreciated

Sounds like a good start. Keep in mind though that if this car is a daily driver, long tubes are not smog legal in many states (dependiong on your smog laws IF you have any) Yes you can use shorties with the GT40 heads you just have to have the right hedders. BBK's work great with the GT40's (so I've heard) What are your plans for the car? Oh and a 65mm Throttle body will be plenty for that application. If you plan on doing a lot more, then maybe look into a 70mm.

Well do you know what gears your mustang has? With the mods that you listed, don't expect the car to be lightning fast. I don't know what kind of "bad" you mean. If you want it to really run, then I would get those heads ported out, and then get that exploder intake port matched to the heads. Gears are a must, the stock 2.73's or 3.08's are terrible so upgrading to 3.73's or even 4.10's for that extra umpfh is a must. Be sure to upgrade the fuel pump to feed the new horsepower, a 190lph pump would be plenty for a GT40 car. Do you have an auto or 5spd? Sounds like you're going to be having some fun.

yea i ment to put tht i was gonna put 3.73's in it, and yea its a 5 spd.........and when i said bad mustangs i ment pro-charged 95 gt with gt-40 everything and huge cam, gears, and many other mods, and there's a few other stangs around with about the same mods.....there no wheel standers but there about the fastest things where i live lol

on that motor i wouldn't waist your money on an alpha cam. the stock cam will probably produce more power in the motor that you mentioned.....i have an f303 cam and it sucks *****

You're going to need a lot more to hang with a procharged stang!!! But I understand you're just starting out... It's a good start to a never ending project
