To the author of this thread - just get the Ps. You can use them with BBK unequal shorties and they'll perform better than the non-Ps.

The Explorer intakes will fit any 5.0 head. The difference is that the intake that came on the P heads (97.5-01?) doesn't have the EGR provisions or the Coolant Temp Sensor in the lower intake...you have to drill and tap it.

so heres my question to the big guys, i know the main differences between the p's and non p's, but what will perform better? I do plan on getting a port job done when i find a machine shop.

The P's have smaller exhaust valves, so if you're having some work done on the heads anyway, get the P's and put 1.54 or 1.60 valves in them and they will outflow the GT40's (in stock trim) all day long.
