Default Question about forged rods

Hey whats up guys. I am throwing together a 306 using anE7TE 302 block.030 over lightweight federal mogul forged pistons and prolly a series9000 crank (nodular iron) I may go with a forged crank. Anyway just wanted to give some info. on the short block. I am for sure getting forged rods but do not know which brand I should go with. They must be H-beam with ARP bolts 5.090 length Iwas thinking about buying some from Eagle but then Ifound a brand called Falcon Global and wanted to know if anyone here has any experience with this company. The price is about $260.00 for these. The Eagle's are about $385.00 to $420.00 depending on who has them available (in stock). Sorry for the long post but I have the money for some good rods and want to spend it wisely. Oh also this enginewill be forced induction not sure just yet if it will be turbo or supercharged. Thanks for any input...ken

well dont go over 500hp at the crank and you will be alright. you can get by with eagles I beam kit to stay under 500 horses. less rotational mass is better if you arent worried too much about the I beams holding up. for lots of boost h-beam may not be a bad idea but dont everbuild ur engine...it will cost alot more than needed. i would go w/ eagle by the way.

Sweet thats what I needed to hear. YeahI plan on about 450hp.I have a Paxton Novi 1000 and a Holset hx35 turbo new. IfI go turbo I will sell the Holset for a t70 Garret. IfI get to carried away with things and destroy the block I will deal with that then. oh yeah I say 10 to 12psi but you know how that goes.

You don't need h beam rods for that set up. It's a waste of money. U'll split the block before u bend a forged I beam.

Yeah I have decidedbetween Scat or Eagle I-beam forged. The Eagle's are 5140 forged and the Scat's are 4340 forged. YeahI hear ya about the stock block splitting so no sense in getting over board with the rods or crank for that matter. I'll save the money for the good stuff when I get my boss 302 block from FRPP only $1547.00 for it yeah know. Cheaper than the Dart and its got screw in freeze plugs. I wonder why Dartdid'nt do that? Prolly did not need it maybe?
