Not sure if your serious (I wasn't for sure) or even responding to my post Dbeck, but if so;
auto or manual, the philosophy would be the same, shift before you run out of usable 'power', but use as much of it as possible.

yes this concept is not new to me, but the point i was trying to make is that
I DONT SHIFT AT HIGH RPMS because i just want to extend the life of my motor, it is my daily driver.
and my other point was YES I WILL LOOSE MY ET IF I SHORT SHIFT BUT ONLY BY A COUPLE TENTHS. when i go to the track though i wont short shift so, i think ill be in good shape.
the whole power output thingy and work thingy equationz are KoOl tho i study this shiz for a livin' dood did i tell you i was learning mekanikal enjineering? and i cannot sppell.

Keep studying your ME, been there-done that, BSME degree 15 years ago. Did they tell you that you will only use about 10% of what your learning?
