RE: sigh
do it yourself. its easy as pie. a few 14mm bolts, a few 16mm bolts, some cleaning and a couple gallons of 50/50 mix antifreeze, and your done.
if you take it to a shop, expect around $250, because they are going to recommend a water pump replacement while they are there, and they will charge you double what they paid for it.

RE: sigh
Are you positive the gasket went bad or is the pump leaking through the hole on the bottom of the shaft area? Just as mattdel says it is a relativly simple task of changing the gasket or pump. Most shops charge about 70 bucks an hour for labor and list for all parts. A reman A-1 Cardone pump is about 30 bucks an Airtex water pump is new and costs about 50 bucks.

RE: sigh
if its coming from that hole, you need to replace it. a regular auto parts store replacement is A-OK, high performance(jegs, summit) replacements aren't needed unless its a track duty car.
again, expect $250-300 for a shop to do it, or around $40-50 to do it yourself, with a few tools and a couple hours labor.
