Yeah, you're gonig to have major problems with your current setup. Some options:

- Get a 130amp alternator from an SN-95
- Put the stock alternator pulley back on but leave other UD pulleys on
- Get a capicator for the amp.

If i were you, I would at LEAST do the first two. If it's a really strong amp, then I'd do teh third as well. I generally recommend 1 farad for every 500 watts (RMS, not Peak.)

really? 1 farad per 500? i'm running a 2000 watt sub, peak, and 1 farad is just fine for it. it only dims my lights when it really really slams.

Yes, but I am talking about 1 farad per 500 RMS not 500 peak. What's your RMS rating? That's always going to be less than peak. Sometimes as much as 75% less. my sub is 1200 peak, but only 600 RMS, which is actually pretty decent.

it only dims my lights when it really really slams.
If it's dimming, then you need a bigger capicator. That's what they're designed to prevent

You can if you get a stronger alternator. But keep in mind that if you go for a really strong amp for teh subwoofer, you are going to want to get a capicator.

its 900 RMS.

the dimming only happens during a HUGE burst of bass, i'm talkin when the sub is maxing out.
so far i've only found 1 track of my bass CD that will do it.

to find the TRUE peak power output of a unit, you multiply the RMS by 2.828

I dont remember where the 2.828 comes in, but its something that has been stuck in my head since middle school from when I did my science fair project on resistance of series and parallel circuits.
