well im gonna find a crank and rods. than im gonna have custom pistons made and put on some nasty heads wit a decent sized cam, and a 4v intake.

i know that they can hold enough to push a 4500# car into the 9's if thats any indication for ya? i cant give you numbers but i do kno that the older style blocks, like pre '74, can hold more power and the newer 429/460's can still hold a lot. also the rods from the truck motors are a bit stronger. the truck motors ( i do believe) have a football shaped head on the rod bolt and the car motors have the squared off ones

wouldnt that be a 460? i thought the 429's were gone by then.... and i didnt know tbirds came with the 429/460 motors after the mid 70's ?!?!
