Default Auto Shift HANDLE Removal.

Has anyone replaced their auto shift handles? How hard is this to do being that theres a o/d botton on the handle? I know manual shift handles you can just twist off but I havent ever had to remove an auto shift handle. Is anyone experienced in this or know how to go about removing it?

some cars have a U shaped clip holding it in, some cars have screws... just pull the handle all the way down into low and look on the front side of the shifter.... should be self explainatory

I dont know where this U clip is supposed to be. I pulled the shifter back into 1st gear and I dont see anything on the front of it. Is it under the bezel? If so do I have to take the whole danf shifter out? It doesnt seem like you can take off JUST the handle...

b&m makes a replacement shifter that is a direct bolt in piece just incase you cant swap just the handle.

pop the shifter plate off with a flathead and unbolt the 4 screws holding the shifter onto the tranny

there may be wires connected to the shifter.
