When did Michigan stop emissions testing? I used to live in Oakland county and it was in place back in the early 90s.

Good luck with the boat...er....project!
They haven't done it since at least 1997, which is when I bought the car.

the AFR heads would be a good choice, size depends on the pistons you have and the size of the valve reliefs. if they are big enough, go with the 185 non emission heads with the larger 2.05 valves for better air flow. get some good 1-5/8" equal length shorty headers and hook them up to your existing exhaust which I hope is 2.5" diameter from the headers back to the tailpipes. the Edelbrock Performer RPM intake with a 75 mm throttle body, 24# injectors with adjustable fuel pressure regulator, and 80 mm MAF calibrated for the 24# injectors should be getting you where you want to be with it.
The 185's, and even the 165 non-emission heads don't accept pedestal rocker arms, so those are not options. My existing exhaust is 2.25" all the way back. I already have a Crane adjustable FPR. Also, I know that my pistons have valve reliefs, although I don't know how big they are. I bought them as part of a Summit rebuild kit, and they billed them as TRW Forged, 10.1:1 compression pistons.
so get the emissions legal AFR 165's and plug the holes in the back of the heads if you want to use the pedestal rockers although I would strongly urge you to go with some stud mounted ones.

What advantage is there to stud rockers? I've already got $240 poured into the current set of rockers that I have. Or is it that you're saying that the AFR 185's or 165 non-emissions have enough of a performance boost that it's worth the extra cost of getting new rockers?

hmm grabbem i have never dynoed my stuff ! I have half of what you got listed and im running 107 traps and and a 13.01 time slips , either you cant drive or your car needs to be tuned a little better. Not knocking on ya but you have some impressive stuff in ur sig.And you should be putting down better numbers. I have stock GT40P heads pro not even touched! Maybe im wrong , But if i put AFR on my car and i didnt run MID 12s I would be Mad. But then again i have beaten several modded 5.0s with Eldelbrock heads etc. I dont even have roller rockers i have stamp steel rockers. Who build your car?

I HAVE SH$$TY TIRES ON IT! 2.05 60's,and no traction until midway through third.
while we are talking your traps call for a mid 12 run too.
your gt40's are good heads better than most think.
