Default Please help me reach 300 rwhp

Okay, here's what I already have and plan to keep: 302 block machined and bored over by .030, E-303 Cam, Federal Mogul Forged Pistons, stock crank, stock rods, FMS 1.6 Roller Rockers (pedestal mount), MAF EFI

Here's what I have that I plan to replace: Stock Mustang HO intake, stock Mustang E7 heads, stock 19# injectors

I built this engine a couple years ago, and it has served me faithfully. I've got around 40k miles on the bottom end now, and it's doing wonderfully. I should also mention that this is in a 1987 Ford Crown Victoria with a race-built wide ratio AOD. My torque converter stalls around 2600-2700, and this engine will run through a 3.73 locking rear.

Money, to some degree, is no object. I do not, however, want to tear apart the lower half of my engine, so everything listed there stays. This car is my daily driver, but I occasionally take it out to the track, and once my suspension and braking mods are done I'd like to take it out for SCCA AutoX. Because I live in Michigan there is no emissions testing, so I've removed my cats, air pump, EGR, etc. I have a high flow exhaust system that is probably most restricted by my stock Mustang shorty headers. So basically I'm looking for some heads, an intake, some injectors, and possibly headers that can get me to 300 RWHP and still keep this power in a usable range in the street. I'd also rather not change out my camshaft as I really like the E-cam. Whatever setup I get will be professionally dyno tuned/chipped. What combo would you guys recommend?

Oh, here's a pic of the beast in question (minus bumpers, which are normally on):

Edelbrock intake, AFR165/185 heads, 1 5/8" longtubes. Might get you damn close to 300 rwhp.

Would I use 24# injectors for that? Also, I don't think that I can fit longtubes due to there not being any designed to fit around a Crown Vic frame.

the AFR heads would be a good choice, size depends on the pistons you have and the size of the valve reliefs. if they are big enough, go with the 185 non emission heads with the larger 2.05 valves for better air flow. get some good 1-5/8" equal length shorty headers and hook them up to your existing exhaust which I hope is 2.5" diameter from the headers back to the tailpipes. the Edelbrock Performer RPM intake with a 75 mm throttle body, 24# injectors with adjustable fuel pressure regulator, and 80 mm MAF calibrated for the 24# injectors should be getting you where you want to be with it.

When did Michigan stop emissions testing? I used to live in Oakland county and it was in place back in the early 90s.

Good luck with the boat...er....project!

I figure I may upgrade in the future so I might as well get 24's since I need new injectors anyhow and since there is no price difference. I don't plan on getting the F-cam though as it seems too radical for daily driver street use though. I'm quite satisfied with my E cam.

The 185's, and even the 165 non-emission heads don't accept pedestal rocker arms, so those are not options. My existing exhaust is 2.25" all the way back. I already have a Crane adjustable FPR. Also, I know that my pistons have valve reliefs, although I don't know how big they are. I bought them as part of a Summit rebuild kit, and they billed them as TRW Forged, 10.1:1 compression pistons.
