intake cleaning and paint

I bought a cobra upper/lower intake for my 94 gt that I want to put on. When it was shipped they didn't tape off one side of the upper and some of the packing peanuts got in it. Should I just blow it out with air or would it be better to shoot the hose in it?

There are a couple of spots where it looks like somebody decided they might want to polish it as there is no more powder coat on it. I want to paint it to clean up these spots as well as to make it look a little different. Do I need any special paint for this? Who else has painted their intake and how?

To paint it you are gonna want to use something like Engine Enamel, thats what I'm using on mine. I'm going to just clean it good, use some engine enamel primer and then paint.

I painted the intake on my 88 5.0 and it turned out really nice. I didn't use a primer. Just sanded with a fine grit paper, and shot it with Duplicolor Engine Enamel aluminum paint.

Here's a pic or two for you. I'm about to spray some stuff on my 87 as well.
