Door lock acuators

Has anyone replaced them, and how do you remove them. Do you drill out the rivit or does it come out from the bottom of the holder inside the door?

I took the panel off the door, but I don't see how they come out either.

i know in my sn-95 i i was able to remove them from the bracket that was riveted to the door without breaking the rivet, its a pain but you just spread the two side pieces of the mount enough to slip it out.

take of dorr panel
disconnect actuator
drill rivet from outside
there is a white clip that is held by the rivet inside the door that clips the the actuator
then put on a nother rivet.
(iv done this about 4 times on each side on my car)
hope that explaines

so I can't seperate or spread thewhite clip apart and just get the actuator out like mentioned before. does the new actuator include a new clip.

best bet is drilling out the rivit, but you need a serious rivit gun for the new ones, the 50 resto kit doesnt come with the clip if i remember correctly,

You should be able to just pull it off. I do it on my other fords all the time why bother drilling out a rivet when you can just pull and it come off? There are two white plastic bushings that go on either side of the door lock and they slide into a groove on the metal part that is riveted to the door just make sure you don't lose the plastic pieces
