should u run a bigger oil pan with hv oil pump
sorry for another post but like i said the other day i just sold my dirtbike so i need to get the rest of my parts just wondering how true this is some people say with a high volume oil pump u should change your pan to hold a little more oil to prevent oil starvation at high rpm? should i a canton kit is like 250???

I think you could put baffles in the stock pan.
NHRA stockers use a stock pan with baffles added and run at REAL high RPM with HV oil pumps.
I think it's worth looking into............

get a high PRESSURE pump, not a high VOLUME pump. the part number ends in A instead of HV.
problem solved (btw these are the pumps ford used on the boss 302's)

RE: should u run a bigger oil pan with hv oil pump
A high volume pump will not run an oil pan dry, restrictors in the lifters meter the amount of oil that's allowed into the valvetrain, which has the longest return path to the pan, and the rest comes out from between rod/main bearings and any oil that gets on the cylinder wall is immediately scraped off and returns back down to the pan. If your pan is running dry it's because there's a restriction in oil return somewhere, or it's just simply not a large enough pan for the application. That beings said, a larger volume pan with bafflesis preferable to make sure that the pickup doesn't run dry under hard accel/decel/cornering
