track and aftermath
well today i went to Englishtown, NJ to race Tropy Stock at Raceway Park, didnt do to bad go to the second round then red lit (im still learning haha) i did however increase mph and ET. last race i went about 10.30 @ 68mph in the 1/8mile, today i went 9.90 @ 74mph in the 1/8mile, all that over a simple AOD tranny tune
now for the reason this thread was made. on my way home i stopped at a local gas station and as i was pumping i noticed a guy staring at me, he then proceeds to ask if i wanna race for $1k i told him i didnt have the money atm but i was rteally just concerned that i would lose
he had a late 90's early 00 3000GT twin turbo, bunch of aftermarket stickers(dunno if he actually had what they said). so i know i would lose but by how much? and what would i need to do to get my 91 auto GT hatch up to par with him?

331 and a procharger will **** on just about anything, a little NOS as a safety wouldn't hurt, but be prepared to spensome dough, i will be in E-town this summer, maybe i'll see you do you have any pics of your car

how much u think it would cost to get a 331 and a procharger? and isnt a 331 just a bored out 302?

yea its a bored 302 and the cost is just depends on whatever kit you get. i would go with a kb blower it gets good torque throughout the entire rpm range. make sure you get a forged motor though

o ok sorry long day thanks for correcting me! from what I have heard they are all really good the kb makes torque troughout the enire rpm range and the centrifuges or however u spell it make boost a little bit later thus less torque on the bottom end but I think but now sure the might make it up towards the top

a 331 is a bored .30 over 302 and stroked, goes by the crankshaft, a 347 is better N/A, your looking at 2-3K for a short block, 1400 for AFR 185 heads, atleast 4k IF YOU WANT A BAD *** INTERCOOLED PROCHARGER, plus other odds and ends like roller rocker, MAF, injectors, fuel pump, throttle body, probably abou 10K but you would be a 9 or 10 second car, then comes suspension and tires, don't forget your rear would need atleast 31 or 33 splines and 3.73 or 4.10 gears, plus tranny yeah good luck, I live in De now but all my family still lives in N.J and my aunt lives in old bridge right next to E town
