Default He who is round, come hither.

if i were to buy the mega bite rear lower control arms (i hear they are the best for drag) how will they affect my overall handling around turns and such? is there such thing as a rear drag control arm that gives me the best of both worlds. drag + handling?

i wanna buy the mega bites but this is my daily driver and i dont want to loose control because i take turns pretty fast. thanks.

oh yea one more thing if i want to buy the lightest and fatest rims out there, what should i go with? bobby suggested the draglite welds, how wide can i go with those before rubbing occurs.

also i want skinny rims in front but want to keep some handling. should i go with a 15 x6 or 15 x 5. any help is appreciated.

I don't see where the mega bites make the handling bad for the street although I've never been out on the street with mine since I change to them. I've read lots of stuff in MM&FF where people have installed them or Southside Machine bars and drive them on the street all the time with no complaint. all they do is change the instant center of the car for better launches at the track and being beffier and stiffer than stock with the poly bushing, they should improve street handling not hurt it. I turn off the track fairly fast and don't notice any problems with them and I'm running a spool too.
I would think twice about going too narrow on the front wheels if you drive primarily on the street. you have to remember that the weight of the car transfers to the front under braking and you don't want to be running with less traction up front due to skinny tires which can't get ahold of the pavement when you get on the brakes in an emergency stop. and front tires have a big effect on handling, especially in "fast turns". rear wheel wise you can probably go to about 9" width with the right offset and back spacing and be OK. I ran 15x8 wheels with a 9" slick and the tire only rubbed on the quad shock when I turned off the track really fast and the body leaned over a bit. I eventually removed the shocks when I changed rear ends and put on the new control arms.
Next time say "please" when you need my advice, "come hither" ain't being real polite you know! LOL

i have some cheapo upper and lower control arms I got for $150. I had a broken upper control arm and needed something stronger. They did not take away from my handling a bit, I left my sway bar off too.(it was dark and I was tired of working on it) IF you are interested, I got them from www.blueovalindustries.com Check em out. I dont see any point in buying big name contral arms. if they arent adjustable theyre all about the same.
