m90 on 5.0
How much gain can i expect by putting an m90 on my stock 5.0? I also have a 9psi pulley. Everyone says it won't move enuff air, will it still move the same 9psi it moved on the tbird it came off of? I know I know its too small, but how much gain can i expect? 40-50 more hp?? thanks all.

RE: m90 on 5.0
most people are under a misconception about boost and how it works...
9PSI on a small 3.8l motor is not 9psi on a 5.0l engine. The simple difference is VOLUME. You can fill a smaller area with less air and have a higher pressure. That same s/c on a 5.0l motor might only make 2-3 psi because of the increased airflow of the 5.0 motor. Its a simple case of CFM (cubic feet per minute. The M90 does not push the CFM to boost a 5.0 to 9psi, it just wont happen. Thats why you see turbo systems on these cars that use a T-70 turbo, making 9psi... but a car like a eclipse or 240sx will run a gt28rs, which is a MUCH smaller turbo, and run 9psi, but there is less actual air being moved.
think about it as the difference between inflating a balloon, and a pool raft.
