Fuel Pump won't run
Hello all,
I have a 89gt conv. auto
Is there a fuse for the fuel pump because I can't find it. The fuel pumpwill not activate with the ignition key on,so I assume the relay is bad. The pump is farily new. Is there a test I can performon the relay? I know how to jump the pump, but do not know which wires to jump. Any help is much appreciated.
Thanks

RE: Fuel Pump won't run
open the trunk
remove carpet around left side tail light
push the red button down
if it is down, check the connection to that button. i bought new straps and everything, getting ready to pull my tank because it wouldn't start. the clip that holds the wires to that shut-off switch broke so any bump or anything would turn my car off!

RE: Fuel Pump won't run
To jump ityou need to send + power to the black/pink wire going to the pump and the - to a chassis ground or the ground wire off the pump itself. Best way to do this is find the connector that links your car's wiring to the fuel tank's wiring harness and apply voltage to the connector pins on the fuel pumps side of the connector. Its a round connector, mine was hanging near the top of my fuel tank just behind my rear bumper cover. A new relay is only 10-15 bux you could buy a new one just to rule it out, and if it doesnt fix your problem it's still a handy part to have on hand as a spair.
