mechanical problems. wasup >.<
ok so i have a guy that knows his mustang ****. or supposedly..... 1 of my sensors up on my firewall of my '87 5.0he says is bad. its the 1 that regulates fuel n air w.e...my car is pumping too much air for how much gas is going in? he says if i get an '89/'90 computer and wire harness it will fix my problem and give me 30ish horses? another problem which might be because of the same thing. from an idle if i try to shoot somebody a rev or just revv it period i press the pedal and my rpms drop and then go up. very disturbing cause also when i go to race and i hit second gear, i pop my clutch and floor it and it drops before it goes up which causes me to loose some time. sounds like my motor is stuttering. would this be because of my computer or sensor or w.e? talk to me, i appreciate it =p
if anybody wants to talk to me onAIM about my problem or my mustang or anything i have a sidekick im always on. my AIM is -- TheMay0

the computer thing wont be a wise choice because your car isspeed density not mass air soyou will have to convert to mass air. clean the throttle body up real good and see if that helps. also the sensor your talking about is a map sensor or an ambient air temp sensor it depends onwhere its at in the engine bay. last but not least the guy that cleans porta johns knows his **** too butthat dont mean hesas smart as he thinks. ya know what i mean

pull the throttle body off spray some electa clean or carb cleaner all over inside and out and let it soak about 5 mins then wipe all off with a rag. if some of its stubborn and wont come off get an old tooth brush and scrub and if that dont get it its prolly varnish which needs a good polishing but not to the point to be digging into the metal. if your handy with a drimal tool and a light grit flapper wheel this works best just dont hit the butterfly blade or anyrhing.
the computer harness may be ok you will have to check but you need an eec-iv computer for an 89 gt with the same tranny and motor as yours then you will have to get a mass air meter and filter calibrated for your injectors. thats where im not sure if your harness will have a spot to plug the mass air sensor into.
not uncommon to have a teaspoon full or so in there but it wouldnt hurt to change the pcv valve. if it still does it i had to put a small brather filter on my oil filler neck where the hose goes to the egr spacer but this required bypassing the egr valve. they make a bypass plate for it.

its the computer
dont worry about ur computer.. if ur stock.. dont worry about switching to mass air.
sounds like a fuel problem.. fuel filter is cheap and easy.. i would start there.
