Hey. I plan on getting a Magnaflow cat back system for my 1990 5.0 L Mustang. (part number #15630) I was told by the shop that it would be $550 canadian for parts and labor which in my opinion isn't bad at all. I want to add some BBK shorty headers as well and they're $310 Canadian plus another 3 hours labor if everything goes 'well'. My question is should I just do the cat back system, or throw in some headers to for a grand total of probebly just over a grand for headers back. My question is will i notice a power gain, will the exhaust sound louder/meaner/better with the headers or without them or is there really not much of a difference even if i didn't get the headers. Thanks for your help.

You should just do it all and be done with it. Someone half-assed it with my car, and now i have junk headers while everything elsehaving to do with exhaustis upgraded. It pisses me off.

do the headers too, without it will sound ok but no real performance increase. Why not just do it yourself and save some money, its not that hard just a little time consuming
