temperature gauge question

Default temperature gauge question

what makes the temp gauge needle move? im asking this because the needle just sits horizontally for a while then it gets up to read the normal temp and i already replaced the sensor and it hasnt changed. thanks

there is magnets in the gauges along with a temp sensor (big thermometer)that runs to the block giving the car info, its an interpretation sensor so the temp puts resistance on the gauge making the needle move. have you checked your grounds? does the car act different, maybe its trying to tell you something

Are you positive you replaced the correct sender? Some cars run two (I think 5.0's do as well). If memory serves, the temp gauge sender is in the intake on the driver's side near the front of the motor.

well i havent been able to fix the hesitating problem so i dont know if it might be connected. what do you think?
